Efe's wish...
“I wish to go to Disneyland Paris”
4 years old, Newport
Wilms' tumour
It also meant that the family’s longed-for trip to Disneyland Paris had to be cancelled. Henrietta (Efe’s Mum) had planned this trip to Disneyland Paris for Efe and his older sister, Aji, aged 7 as a once in a lifetime trip and the whole family had been looking forward to it.
“Efe started to experience pain, vomiting, weight loss, and difficulty breathing,” Henrietta explained. After extensive medical appointments, he was diagnosed with Wilms’ tumour – a rare cancer that affects the kidneys of young children. “He started treatment almost immediately. Efe showed incredible bravery,” said mum.
“When Efe learned he could have a wish, he immediately said he wanted to go to Disneyland Paris – the trip he never got to take,” Henrietta shared. “It means so much to us as a family and it was a celebration of everything Efe has been through”.

The date of Efe’s wish to go to Disneyland Paris was exactly one year since Efe completed his treatment – so it was an extra special celebration for the family.
For Efe, his wish to go to Disneyland Paris was a dream come true. “He’s so full of life now,” Henrietta says. “After everything he’s been through, this trip means the world to him.”
