The Kentown Wizard Foundation helps Make-A-Wish UK grant life-changing wishes

The Kentown Wizard Foundation has been supporting Make-A-Wish UK since 2016, initially helping to fund the wishes of children in the north of England wishing to have a Disneyland Paris wish, and then across the UK.

To date, the Foundation has donated £1.5m to help us grant life-changing wishes to children who have been diagnosed with a critical condition.

Covid 19 had a huge impact on Make-A-Wish. The pandemic meant that we had to put all our travel wishes on hold, including all Disneyland Paris wishes that The Kentown Wizard Foundation had agreed to fund. But thanks to their ongoing generosity and support we were permitted to use their 2020 grant to fund 361 other types of wishes.

You can read about some of these wishes below, including 11-year-old Dakota, whose wish was to have some cookery equipment. When asked about how having a wish had helped, Dakota's mum, Mary said:

“That one special moment can change a child’s life forever. It can change a family’s life forever. The happiness that a wish can bring is a beacon that shines through tough times.”
