Dani-Rae's wish...

“I wish to go and see Wicked the musical”

4 years old, Blackwood

Spinal muscular atrophy

The number of children in the UK who could benefit from a wish has doubled in the last 15 years, and is set to increase further.

You can help more children like Dani-Rae by donating now.

Dani-Rae is four years old and lives with type 1 spinal muscular atrophy, a rare genetic condition that causes progressive muscle weakness, along with mobility and respiratory challenges.

As a huge fan of Wicked, when it came to choosing her wish, there was one clear favourite - a trip to London to see the stage show felt like the perfect way to bring the magic she loves so much to life!

Despite the challenges she faces due to her condition, she is an outgoing little girl, although she can take some time to warm to people.

Dani-Rae is a huge WICKED fan and has lost count of the number of times she has seen the film. She also has a huge WICKED toy collection, which she loves playing with, from figurines to LEGO® sets.

“We don’t tend to be stuck for ideas for presents for her.” joked her parents, Charlie and Tyler.

Unsurprisingly, they thought that a trip to London to see WICKED the musical would be the perfect wish for her!

“The show was incredible, she absolutely loved it,” shared Dad. “We couldn’t believe how good it was! The lady playing Elphaba spoke to her as we were coming out and Dani was in awe. The accessibility was so good too.”

Dani also received a WICKED t-shirt and another doll to add to her growing collection!

The family had such a great time they are even thinking about creating a yearly tradition where they travel down to see the show again.

"Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity. It means more to our family than words can express. These memories will last forever."
