#Wish100Week

Uniting the gaming community to grant 100 wishes

The first ever #Wish100Week took place in July – uniting the gaming community with one goal: to raise enough money to grant 100 life-changing wishes to children who are critically ill.

Dan TDM, GaGOD, Beardageddon, It’s Tegan, InDeeDee, and KT.EXE are just some of the amazing people who took part, alongside game developers, brands, fundraisers, and donors.

The challenge was to raise £200,000 and they smashed it! In fact, they raised almost £300,000 through livestreams and donations!

The need for wishes has never been greater, after hundreds of wishes were put on hold during the pandemic and after independent research showed the extent of the challenge we're facing: 63,000 young people in the UK are eligible for a wish because of their diagnosis and that figure is only set to grow. We’re determined to reach as many of them as possible.

Wishes to have games consoles, PCs and VR equipment have become increasingly popular during lockdown, as they help to provide that all-important escape from the daily challenges of coping with a critical illness and a chance to be independent, to take on an alternative character and to socialise.

See below to meet some of the wish children who have benefitted from gaming and technology wishes and find out how you can get involved with GameStars and contribute to this incredible fundraising effort.
