Royal Parks Half Marathon
Important Event Announcement
As you may know, the organisers of the Royal Parks Half Marathon have announced that the 2020 event will be postponed to Sunday 11th April 2021 (subject to final permissions). The full statement from the organisers can be found here.
While it is disappointing that the autumn event has been cancelled, it is great news that the event will go ahead next spring.
What happens next?
The organisers have let us know that places from this year’s event will automatically be rolled over to 2021. If you already had a place with us this will have been rolled over. If you are hoping to take part we still have places available for the new event date.
We are still finding out how this will all work. As soon as we have more information from the organisers we will clarify the process as to what you’ll need to do next. We hope to be in touch with you in the next few weeks as we find out more.
In the meantime, we have prepared some questions which we think you’re likely to have below:
Q: When is the new event date for 2021?
The event organisers have told us the provisional date for 2021 is 11th April. We will confirm this once we hear more from them.
Q: What about the event planned for autumn 2021?
The good news is, next year’s autumn event is still in the diary – so there will be two runs in 2021.
Q: What happens to my place?
The organisers have let us know that this year's places will be rolled over to 2021. We are waiting to find out more about how this will work.
Q: What happens to my registration fee?
The registration fee is non-refundable.
Q: What happens to my fundraising?
Your fundraising and target will just roll over to the rescheduled event. We currently have 2,000 children who are waiting for wishes – please keep fundraising!
Q: I have a ballot place – what does this mean for me?
As you received your place directly from the organisers, please visit their website to read their full update, by clicking here.
Q: Can I transfer my place to another event with Make-A-Wish UK?
We will be able to give more information once we have had more clarity around the 2021 event
Q: I had already deferred to 2021 prior to cancellation – what does this mean for me?
Once we have had another update from the organisers we will be in touch.
Q: I have lost money due to the price of accommodation/travel, what can I do?
Please check with your insurance provider or travel agent.
