Make-A-Wish UK

Our vision is a world where every single one of those children, and their loved ones, can experience the life-changing magic of a wish

About us

There are more than 63,000 children living with a critical illness in the UK. This number has doubled over the past 15 years and prevalence varies considerably according to ethnicity and economic circumstances. It is difficult to imagine a more challenging situation for a child and their family. In the face of this it would be easy to underestimate the difference wishes can make.

In recent years, Make-A-Wish UK have led the way in establishing an evidence base for the power of wishes. We now know what we have always believed. A child’s wish can have a profoundly positive impact on their lives and the lives of people around them. It can change the child’s perception of what is possible, provide hope for the future and a lifetime of happy memories.

These are not just jobs. Being part of Make-A-Wish UK doesn’t just change the life of the child. It changes everyone who has the good fortune to be part of this wonderful organisation. It can be very emotional. It can sometimes be quite upsetting. However, above all else it is an incredibly uplifting and joyful place to be.

Asking on the job related questions not only shows you the candidate's experience, but also how they think. The fact that CVs aren't looked at and that they are anonymised makes it feel much more fair.
