#WishesAreWaiting
Make A Wish UK supports #ChildhoodCancerAwarenessMonth
Cancer is the most common condition affecting our wish children. Wishes bring excitement and hope.
Adam is just one of the many children seeking hope to help get them through treatment. He wishes to see his team Manchester United play! Today, hundreds of children are counting the days until their wish will be granted.
Adam is 6 years old and lives in Leicester with his Mum, Dad and little sister. He was diagnosed with cancer in September 2019 and since then has gone through treatment and several operations. Adam’s wish is to see his favourite football team, Manchester United play at Old Trafford and maybe catch a glimpse of his hero, Marcus Rashford.
Before coronavirus, 2,000 seriously ill children had turned to us with a wish.
Today, those 2,000 children are waiting. Hoping their wish will still come true.
Now, we’re turning to you.
Donate today to give them hope.
As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Make-A-Wish is having to make similar decisions to those that our wish families make every day. How do we mitigate the risk of infection? Is it safe? How can we budget for months of uncertainty? How do we prepare for weeks of isolation from others? What can we look forward to once that isolation is over? It’s given us an even greater insight into the challenges faced by the families we support.
We've had to postpone or cancel many wishes due to take place over the coming weeks and months and we need you help now more than ever to ensure that, when the time comes, we are able to grant the wishes of the hundreds of children waiting to have their wishes granted.
Your donation today can help secure a child's wish so they have something to look forward to during this difficult time.
"It would mean the world to me to visit the theatre of dreams to see the team I love and support in real life. Unfortunately my mum and dad can’t make my wish happen by themselves, but you can."
