14 year old Alisha Pankhurst, who has been diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, loves animals and one day hopes to become a zookeeper! So when Make-A-Wish asked what her wish would be, she chose to fulfil her zookeeper ambition and get up close and personal with the animals at London Zoo!

Alisha, from Macclesfield, arrived by limousine to London Zoo and was given a VIP tour of the animals. She fed giraffes, llamas and alpacas and was surprised on the day when was allowed to hold a Kinkajou! Alisha bought many animal souvenirs in the zoo shop before ending the day with a family meal at TGI Fridays.

Alisha was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in December 2012, when cancer cells were found in her neck and chest. She had an operation to remove a lump on her neck and began chemotherapy treatment in January 2013. Sadly Alisha contracted a lung infection in February and was rushed into Alder Hey hospital where she was in a coma for a week. The chemo has left Alisha with nerve damage in her right hand and left foot which limits her ability to walk.

We need your help to grant another child's wish.

Mum Nikki said: "Alisha's illness has had a massive impact on our lives. The whole family had a really tough year but Make-A-Wish was such a big support. Words can't describe what the wish meant to Alisha - she smiled the whole day and it was a really positive end to the year.

"To see Alisha happy and doing something she wouldn't ordinarily have been able to do was amazing. She is now even more determined to become a zookeeper!"

Sponsored donations made towards a child’s wish will go towards their One True Wish. If a child’s wish receives over funding the additional donations will be put towards a similar wish. If a child's wish doesn't reach 100% funding their wish will still take place and general funds will be used.
