About Me

Born and bred in Stoke-on-Trent, I've spent most of my life volunteering with or working in the charity sector. After being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia at the age of 15, I was referred to Make-A-Wish, who granted my wish to go on a holiday with my family. Having seen the difference that the charity makes to children and their families, I got involved by becoming a Volunteer Wishgranter, whilst also volunteering with various other charities.

In 2013, I became a Fundraiser at my local children's hospice and three years later was promoted to Challenge Events Manager. I loved my job and the families that I worked with, but in early 2018, when an opportunity came along to work for Make-A-Wish as one of their Regional Fundraising Managers, I jumped at the chance - it was the DREAM JOB!

My role at Make-A-Wish

As the Regional Fundraising Manager for the Central England area, I work with supporters to raise the funds needed to grant life changing wishes. This varies from individuals, to community groups, schools and corporates, which means that no day is ever the same!

It's an honour to share my story with our supporters in the hopes that it will inspire someone to refer a child for a wish or raise funds or awareness for us.

"My wish changed my life and I hope to make this happen for many more children and their families in the future."
