Originally from Essex and moved to Norfolk over 10 years ago, I've been working in the charity sector for many years now and prior to that worked in banking. The reason for wanting to work for a charity was the feeling of not making a difference and the urge to do so, wanting to help others who need it more than me and give back is something I knew I wanted to do from a young age. Combining sales experience and the ability to build good relationships with people across the country has made me realise how much I love what I do.
My role at Make-A-Wish
I am a part of the Community Fundraising team at Make-A-Wish. My role is to support and develop our team across the country, working with supporters and volunteers to help grant life-changing wishes. As well as offering wider support within our team, I also manage community fundraising in the East of England, which involves meeting with lots of new supporters and volunteers to raise awareness and funds for more wishes.
Communities are the heart of Make-A-Wish and the opportunity to meet and engage with wish children and families and showcasing the difference our supporters make is close to my heart.
"The feeling of waking up in the morning knowing that today I have the ability to help grant another child’s wish is really special."
