Wish eligibility

A child must meet certain criteria in order to be eligible to receive a wish from Make-A-Wish UK. Please see below for more information. If you have any questions about the referrals process, please contact our Referrals team on 0118 304 3368 or by email to [email protected].

What are the criteria?

  • The child needs to be a UK resident
  • They must be aged between 3 and 17 years (inclusive). We can accept an application if we receive it on the child's third birthday, or before their 18th birthday.
  • They must be diagnosed with a critical condition. A ‘critical condition’ does not have to mean life-limiting. You can see the list of conditions that fall into our eligibility criteria below.
  • We can only grant one wish for any child, so a child shouldn't have received a wish from us before or from another wish granting organisation.
