PR and Influencer Engagement Manager

The fast-paced marketing team drives activity that supports fundraising and brand development. Within this role, you will manage our media relationships, generating national, broadcast and local coverage for wishes and campaigns, as well as engaging influencers in our work.
You will be telling our compelling stories of wishes, fundraising, fundraisers and our own story though a range of media. You could also be encouraging influencers to deepen their relationship with us to support wishes, get involved with fundraising, take part in an event or support a campaign we’re running. In the event of a crisis, you’ll need to lead us through how to best manage our reputation.
The focus for this role is owned and earned channel engagement.
You’ll need to work closely with fellow marketing team colleagues – including content and delivery, stories, assets, social and digital campaigns, insight and website. We’re a close team and need to work together tightly and coherently (and with the fundraising and other teams) to deliver maximum results. You’ll be supported by a PR officer and volunteers and will drive engagement and training for our community wish volunteers.
This is a busy role that requires a balance of strategic approach, creativity and planning to deliver success.
You’ll need experience coordinating activities to maximise opportunities around key stories, moments and campaigns. You’ll have experience of working with celebrities and influencers in a range of different contexts and be able to demonstrate how you’ve encouraged them to get involved. You’ll also be able to demonstrate how you can generate purposeful coverage that helps drive engagement and action with key audiences.
You will need to be able to prioritise work and deadlines and show enthusiasm and a can-do attitude and approach.
The nature of our work is sensitive at times, particularly around emotional stories of children, and we are an ambitious fast-paced organisation, so you’ll need to be resilient and open to change.
Hours: Full-time 37 hours
