Latest Wishes - Lucky Lois meets TV’s Tracy Beaker

13 year old Lois will never forget the day she came face-to-face with her idol Dani Harmer, TV’s Tracy Beaker, on a day organised for her by Make-A-Wish.

Lois, from Market Harborough in Leicestershire, lives with Niemann-Pick Disease (a rare condition that causes loss of muscle tone, Epilepsy and speech limitations). She’s a huge fan of CBBC’s ‘The Story Of Tracy Beaker’, never misses an episode and told us that it was her wish to meet the star of the show in person.

Lois was joined on her special day by Mum Amanda, Dad Roger and her brother Luke, aged 16. Their fun began at the Pennyhill Park Hotel in Bagshot, Surrey where, after a night with less sleep than usual because of the excitement, they enjoyed a lovely breakfast and a relaxing trip to the pool and spa.

Dani Harmer then arrived and spent two and a half hours deep in conversation with her number one fan, talking to Lois and her family about her role as Tracy Beaker and posing for photos with the family. Dani then presented Lois with a cuddly toy that she now calls her “Dani Bear.”

Lois’ Mum, Amanda, said: “Dani was very down to earth and a pleasure to spend the afternoon with. We don’t think Lois could actually believe that she was there! She thoroughly enjoyed meeting Dani, so thank you to her and to Make-A-Wish for the fantastic effort they have all made. It has made Lois’ and the whole family’s year!”

Dani told us: "Meeting Lois and her lovely family was an absolute delight. I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon, which was spent chatting, laughing and eating! It's an honour to be part of such a great charity. Make-A-Wish does such an amazing job and I really hope I can continue to assist them in any way I can. I send my very best wishes to Lois and her family and hope they keep in touch."
