Aaron, aged 13, from Chatham, Kent, had a magical day when he had his very special wish granted to ride in a helicopter.
Aaron, who is living with Ewings sarcoma, a type of bone cancer, was collected from his home in a hummer limousine, along with his mother Carla, her partner Grahame, his sister Rhianna and his brother Jordan and driven in style to Biggin Hill Airport to begin his daring day out.
On arrival Aaron could barely believe his eyes as he approached the helicopter. Once inside he was able to play with the helicopter controls and interact with the pilot. Aaron made sure to try on the helicopter headset too. There was barely time to catch his breath as he was taken high into the sky for his thrilling helicopter ride. During the ride Aaron took in birds eye views of the local area and sights. It was an unforgettable experience.
After all that excitement Aaron and his family were whisked off to enjoy a tour of the famous Madame Tussauds waxwork museum. Aaron’s special day ended at the Rainforest Café where he and his family enjoyed a tasty meal.
Aaron’s mother, Carla, said: “It was a lovely day, Aaron was ecstatic.”
Make-A-Wish would like to thank Atlas Helicopters Ltd and Sky Charter UK Limited for making this very special day happen. We would also like to thank Dairy Crest for sponsoring this wish.
In 2010, around 1,000 children will turn to Make-A-Wish to have their special wish granted. We need to raise £5 million this year in order to continue granting these magical wishes. Please help us to grant more magical wishes by making a donation today
