We Had A Wish - Peppa Pig’s big surprise for Alicia!

Alicia meets her idol Peppa Pig

Little Alicia was welcomed back to her playgroup after a spell in hospital – with a big surprise!

Alicia is only three and has recently been discharged from hospital, where she was undergoing treatment for Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. While she was in hospital, Alicia (from Alresford in Hampshire) was kept company by her favourite television show, Peppa Pig, and all her Peppa Pig toys. Alicia loves the show and the character so much that she even has Peppa Pig wellies, which she wears whenever she gets the chance.

Being in hospital meant that Alicia missed going to her playgroup and playing with all her friends, so when she was back we arranged for her to be collected from home in a bright pink limo (her favourite colour) along with her Mum and Dad and taken to the playgroup at Alresford Methodist Church.

She’d been dearly missed there and her friends were waiting to greet her with a huge ‘Welcome Back’ poster. Even better than that; there was a very special friend waiting to say hello....

When the children had finished welcoming back their friend, in walked none other than Peppa! Alicia didn’t lose any time in rushing over to greet her with a great big hug and a kiss. She was bursting with joy at meeting her favourite character and there was barely a dry eye in the house.

Alicia and her friends played some games and read a story with Peppa, before she and her family were whisked off to Frankie and Benny’s for lunch and to talk about the very special morning.

Alicia’s mother, Julie Ann, said: “It was Alicia’s wish to meet Peppa Pig, and to see her so happy means everything to us. We’ve not had a day out as a family where we can relax and have fun for a long time and this means so much. Thank you Make-A-Wish and everyone at the playgroup for making my little girl so happy.”
