We’re quite lucky here in the Wishgranting Department - we can honestly say that no two days (or hours for that matter!) are the same. Take last week for example: we had an offer of tickets to ride the Polar Express, a meeting with a very important corporate supporter (help with football wishes; yes, please!), multiple deliveries (elf letters, cupcakes, presents from Peru and a bespoke painting for a wish child), a visit from a gorgeous and cheeky little chappy called Oscar whose wish we granted this year - and the week ended with a manic chase to locate a missing wish pack. Wish packs contain everything a family needs for their wish so, as you can imagine, when one goes astray in the post we have to act fast.

Here are a few photos from last week...

People often think that we grant wishes solely for children with a ‘terminal’ prognosis. We don’t, and it’s not a word we like or use. The children we grant wishes for have a life-threatening condition; many do recover and have happy ending – I can’t tell you how much we love to hear those. Of course, this leaves those heart-breaking moments when you find out a child has lost their battle. It’s hard, unimaginable almost, to think of what the families are facing.

"Salagadoola mechicka boola bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. Put 'em together and what have you got, bibbidi-bobbidi-boo. Salagadoola mechicka boola bibbidi-bobbidi-boo.
