Due to the very specific nature of our work, we ensure that our application process is as interactive and informative as possible in order to recruit only the most appropriate and enthusiastic volunteers. We operate a system of "Meet & Greet" interviews at a local level in our regions throughout the UK with the intention of informing applicants about the various aspects and profiles of volunteer activity within the charity. This is also a perfect opportunity for you to ask questions to ensure that we are the correct choice of charity to suit your needs and availability.
Our trained volunteers and regional management team will determine the outcome of each interview process. Successful applicants will be contacted with a standard application form which will request personnel details, two personal references and statutory information required for the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB - Scottish and Northern Ireland equivalents apply). On the positive completion of personal references and during the period of the statutory CRB checks being undertaken we will start a formal process of training. All volunteers participate in our programme of Induction and Basic Training leading to an on-going programme of personal development and specialisation based on each volunteer's experience and level of availability.
We offer an amazing diversity of roles for you to volunteer your time and energy to Make-A-Wish. Ultimately we endeavour to ensure that all our volunteers are equipped to be an ambassador on behalf of our very special charity - help us to continue to share the power of our wish granting by applying to become a volunteer today.
