Clothes Aid

We are pleased to be working with Clothes Aid, a company we have authorised to collect clothing and textiles for recycling on our behalf.

Since we started working with Clothes Aid in 2007, it has raised over £600,000 for Make-A-Wish (equivalent to more than 150 wishes), so it is a very valuable resource for us.

Make-A-Wish receives a set amount per tonne collected, which helps us to continue granting magical wishes all across the UK.

If you receive a Clothes Aid Make-A-Wish bag through your door, we would be very grateful if you could fill it up with surplus clothes, shoes and bedding, whereupon it will be collected from outside your door.

As a new service for 2011, Clothes Aid is now also happy to collect books, DVDs, CDs and computer games.

Recycle your old mobile phone

Here’s a chance to be green, clear out the clutter AND help grant magical wishes – all at the same time.

Have you got old mobile phones sitting around that look as if they should be in a museum? Send them to ShP Solutions (the FREEPOST address is below), stating that you want Make-A-Wish to benefit, and we will receive on average £3.50 for each phone, all of which goes towards granting a child’s wish.

You could also ask your colleagues at work if they’d like to participate, especially if your employer uses work mobiles; we’d be very grateful to receive any old handsets once the mobile phone company has upgraded or renewed the contract.

The FREEPOST address to send your phone to is:

FREEPOST
ShP Solutions
Lancaster

If you’ve got more than ten phones to recycle, contact Richard Bowden of ShP on richard.bowden@shpsolutions.com and he will arrange a FREE courier collection.

Don’t forget to enclose a note saying that you would like Make-A-Wish to benefit.

Your old printer cartridges can help us

Recycling your printer cartridges is environmentally friendly and helps to reduce the 250 million cartridges dumped in landfill sites in the last decade, as well as helping you raise money for Make-A-Wish.

According to current statistics, only 5% of empty toner cartridges are currently being recycled – this means 95% of these items are simply discarded and end up in landfill sites. To check that your cartridges are suitable and to request FREEPOST envelopes for them, please get in touch with:

Turn your old car into a cash donation

Do you have an old car that you need to get rid of? If so, why not recycle it through Charity Car? Make-A-Wish will receive 100% of the car’s value.

Charity Car is the new scheme from the UK's largest car recycling network - Cartakeback.com.

It couldn’t be easier to recycle your old car through Charity Car. They will take out all the hassle, and make sure that the car is either auctioned to the highest bidder, or recycled safely, environmentally and in accordance with the law. You can either drop off the car at your nearest Cartakeback recycling centre or they may be able to collect it from you free of charge!

To find out more, and to arrange for your car to be recycled in aid of Make-A-Wish, please visit this link.
