Your regular donation will help the hundreds of seriously ill children who turn to Make-A-Wish throughout the year. And Payroll Giving, or Give As You Earn (GAYE), is a fantastic way for you to make that regular gift. It’s a really easy way for you to donate, coming straight out of your pay. And, because it is taken before tax, each £1 you donate will actually cost you less.
How it works
Payments made through a Payroll Giving Scheme are taken from your pay before tax is deducted. So, each £1 you donate to help us grant wishes will actually cost you a lot less – depending on how much tax you pay.
For example, if you donate £10 it will cost you £8 if you pay tax at 20%. And if you pay tax at the higher rate of 40% it will only cost you £6 to make the same sized donation.
If you receive your company/personal pension through Pay As You Earn (PAYE) you can give this way too.
If your company doesn’t already have a Payroll Giving Scheme it's easy for them to set one up.
And did you know giving direct from your salary is one of the most efficient ways to donate to Make-A-Wish? Because your donation is made pre-tax, we don’t have to go back and reclaim it as Gift Aid. And that saves us time and paperwork! What’s more, if you pay tax at 40% or 50% it’s the only way we automatically receive all the tax on your donation. And that means we can channel more of our resources into making the wishes of the children we help come true.
