Follow in the celebrities’ footsteps!


We're looking for adventurous people to challenge themselves and climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s tallest free-standing mountain and the highest mountain on the African continent at 5,896 metres.

You will trek through the tranquillity of the jungle seeing spectacular wildlife, then experience breathtaking glaciers before you climb to the snow-capped summit, Uhuru Peak, experiencing something many others will only ever dream of.

Thursday 11 October – Saturday 20 October 2012, Machame Route

Itinerary

 

DAY 1:
Fly London to Kilimanjaro airport

DAY 2:
Transfer to Arusha

DAY 3:
Begin trekking the Machame route. First climb to 3,100m

DAY 4:
Ascend through forest on the Shira Plateau. Camp at 3,840m

DAY 5:
Pass underneath the Lava Tower and Western Breach (acclimatisation time)

DAY 6:
Trek the Great Barranco ravine towards Karanga Valley

DAY 7:
Ascend towards summit glaciers, sunrise at Stella Point before final push to Uhuru peak at 5,895m!

DAY 8:
Gentle trek back down to rain forest and Mweka - receive certificate of ascent!

DAY 9:
Time to explore, transfer to airport for flight home

DAY 10:
Flight to London

 

How do I sign up?

To take part in this challenge, we ask that you pay a registration fee of £449 and raise the minimum sponsorship of at least £4,050.
