After being part of Make-A-Wish for the past five years, Jennie said "Every day just gets better and better. Each day is different and although it can sometimes be quite stressful, nothing can beat the exhilaration you feel at the end of each day knowing that something you have done has spread some magic to some very deserving children and their families."
With so many different aspects to her role as Regional Manager as well as many mixed emotions attached to each new day it was difficult for Jennie to choose just one particular wish that stands out above all the others. However, one of her many wish visits stands out in her memory for very special reasons.
Jennie said "We visited five year old Callum to find out what his wishes were. Callum is a huge fan of Il Divo, so much so that when the family go out in the car, Callum and twin sister Ellie demand that the only CD played is Il Divo's.
I asked Callum if he had a favourite song, and he told me that his favourites were number's 1, 7 and 11 on the CD, and Ellie said she liked number 2 the best. The children couldn't remember what the songs were called and only knew them by number! Callum wanted us to hear these songs, but in particular number 1 since that was his very, very, favourite. He ran over to the CD player and put his CD on, and along with Ellie they stood in the middle of the living room and sang each song word for word in French, Spanish and Italian. Our own impromptu opera, fantastic!"
Callum along with Ellie, Mum & Dad, were treated as VIP guests meeting Il Divo and enjoying their concert when the group visited Cardiff as part of their World Tour.
