Trustees
- David Maloney
David became Make-A-Wish's Chair in 2008. He is Chairman of Brandon Hire and of Reed & Mackay Travel. He is is also a non-executive director of Micro Focus, Cineworld Group and Enterprise Inns. A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, David's most recent executive role was as Chief Financial Officer of the global hotel group Le Meridien Hotels and Resorts.
- Anne-Catherine Buxton
Anne has been a Trustee of Make-A-Wish since 2007, and involved with different children's charities for a number of years.
- Malcolm Jones
Malcolm is Head of Banking at Barclays Wealth, having previously held senior posts at CIGNA and Henderson Global Investors. An accountant, Malcolm chairs Make-A-Wish's Finance Committee and has been a Trustee since 2007.
- Pippa Carte
Until the end of 2011, Pippa was Director of Development at WWF, one of the UK’s largest charities. At the beginning of 2012, she took up a position as Director of Development at the new Children’s Museum in London. Pippa has been a Trustee of Make-A-Wish since January 2011.
- John Orriss
John is Chief Marketing Officer at the RAC, having previously been Director of Subscriber Growth at BSkyB. His earlier career included senior positions at Telewest Broadband and Walkers Snack Foods.
- Graham Stapleton
Having worked for Marks and Spencer, B and Q and Kingfisher, Graham is the Chief Commercial Officer at Carphone Warehouse and became a Trustee in 2011.
- Susan Gent
After starting her career by qualifying as a solicitor, Susan has subsequently held senior posts in both the commercial and charity sectors. She is currently Head of Legal at WWF, a position she has held since 2006, and became a Trustee of Make-A-Wish in January 2012.
- Tim Cook
Tim heads the Information Officers Practice of Russell Reynolds, one of the world’s leading executive search consultants. In his personal time, his fundraising efforts have included leading the world’s first rowing expedition along 1,000km of the Upper Zambezi, to the Victoria Falls. Tim has been a Trustee since January 2012.
- Liz Hill
Liz Hill works in IT, initially as a developer and in recent years as a senior IS business consultant with Boehringer-Ingelheim, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, based in Bracknell. Liz is very familiar with Make-A-Wish’s work and has volunteered for us at a number of events in the past.
- Ian Lathey
Ian has been a Make-A-Wish volunteer since 2011 and in that time has been very active both as a wish visitor and as a fundraiser. In his professional life, Ian is Director of EMEA Procurement at IHS Global Insight and his career has included senior positions in organisations including Rentokil, ICL and Calor Gas. It was in his previous role, as Director of Procurement at City Link, that Ian first encountered Make-A-Wish. We were City Link's Charity of the Year and he went on a sponsored cycle ride to Paris, to raise money for us: Ian visited our offices for the cheque presentation and from that moment on, he was hooked!
- David Hockley
David joined the Make-A-Wish board in February 2013 and he is also a Trustee of the National Youth Theatre. In his professional life, he has been the Finance Director at FT.com and at Channel Five. More recently, David has taken on specialist Interim Finance Director posts at Travel Channel International and at Scripps Network Interactive.
