Latest Wishes - Jenson comes in first again for Make-A-Wish

Jenson & Shaun

Formula One World Champion and Make-A-Wish Patron Jenson Button recently granted a special wish for a brave young man.

Shaun from Swansea, who battles a type of Brain Tumour called Craniopharyngioma, has been a supporter of Jenson since his early days in F1. Recently he got to meet his racing hero, courtesy of Make-A-Wish.

Shaun was chauffeured by limousine to the home of the Brawn GP Formula One Team in Brackley, Northamptonshire, where he was treated to a close-up and in-depth look at a Brawn GP car - a privilege not granted to many.

Barely past the trophies in the lobby at the home of the Formula One World Champion constructors, Shaun and his parents bumped into a raft of celebrities – BBC F1 presenter Jake Humphrey and ex-England Rugby Union player Matt Dawson – before being taken to meet his hero.

When Jenson and Shaun met, Jenson noticed immediately that Shaun was wearing a pink shirt, as his father does for good luck on race days. They talked about this and about the championship, before Shaun amused all present by bowing before his idol.

Shaun says: "I was so nervous I spent last week practising how to smile; now I can't stop! What can you say when you get the chance to meet your hero? It was amazing!”

In 2010, around 1,000 children will turn to Make-A-Wish to have their special wish granted. We need to raise £5 million this year in order to continue granting these magical wishes. Please help us to grant more magical wishes by making a donation today
