Listed below are some of the key roles which Make-A-Wish needs volunteers to help with:

Wish Visitor

Purpose:

To visit the wish child in their home and ascertain what their true wish is and why they would like it to be granted.

Make-A-Wish Volunteers

Skills:

Wish Planner

Purpose:

To assist in the planning of a wish by providing local knowledge and helping with activities as part of the preparation for the wish day. The activities involved will vary considerably depending on the wish being granted.

Skills:

Collection Box Agent

Purpose:

To fundraise for Make-A-Wish by taking responsibility for a defined and agreed local area and work towards the placing of as many collection boxes as possible.

Make-A-Wish Volunteers

Skills:

Public Speaker

Purpose:

To act as a public representative of Make-A-Wish in the local community, presenting to a wide variety of professional and community organisations, including schools.

Skills:

Promotional Agent

Make-A-Wish Volunteers

Purpose:

To help raise awareness of Make-A-Wish by acting as a representative of the charity at promotional events, shows and other similar activities.
