Volunteers are the backbone of Make-A-Wish. With over 500 volunteers actively supporting the charity in a wide variety of ways, the contribution made by our volunteers is invaluable in helping us to continue to grant magical wishes to some very deserving children.
The application process begins with a short telephone call which gives us the chance to tell you a little more about Make-A-Wish, the different volunteering roles which exist within the charity and the volunteering positions we are looking to fill in your local area. The telephone call also gives us both the opportunity to ask questions and agree that volunteering for Make-A-Wish will match both your and our needs and expectations.
On successful completion of the telephone interview, we will ask you to complete an application form and return it to us together with the names of two referees. If you are intending to get involved with wish granting, you will also be asked to provide information for a police criminal records check.
Once you have been accepted as a volunteer you will receive general training on how the charity works and specific training for the tasks which you have chosen to carry out on behalf of
Make-A-Wish.
Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions

Just let us know how much time you are able to offer us - whether there are only certain days or months when you are likely to be able to help or perhaps even as a one-off whilst you are taking a career break.
